“Not yet, First I would like to entertain my guests,” Carmela took a seat next to Hulderich and motioned to the arena below.

Even from the back of the suite Dominick could see what was happening on the arena floor. A man was pushed into the arena from one end; he was frightened and looked around undoubtedly unsure of what was going on. On the opposite side of the arena a small boy walked into the arena. A bell sounded and the small boy ran across the floor and attacked the much larger man. Dominick was amazed at their speed and ferocity. The small boy jumped onto the back of the other man after they wrestled and tore off his head. Dominick gasped at what he had just witnessed, and gasped again when the adult dissolved into a pool of what looked like oil.

“Ah so this is how you handle your Foundlings. It is somewhat entertaining,” Hulderich looked over to Carmela. “Do you have more?”

“Of course, I have been saving my best fighters for this night,” Carmela smiled and looked back onto the arena floor. Soon another pair of combatants were set upon each other, and then another. There were a total ten pairs of combatants that fought in these bizarre death matches. Dominick watched in disbelief, they had superhuman abilities. Faster than normal, stronger than normal and when they died the body was consumed in a myriad of ways.

“That was the last one, what do you think of our operation?” Carmela waited patiently for Hulderich’s response.

“It seems like a waste of time to hold these exhibitions. It is counterproductive to our cause. They should be culled as soon as they are caught,” Hulderich’s tone hardly changed as he uttered his response. It was obvious by the insulted look on her face, that this was not the response Carmela was expecting.

“Well, then onto something that will not waste your time.” Carmela’s friendly demeanor rapidly changed to a more business like tone.

“Proceed,” Hulderich stood and turned toward Dominick and Sally. Carmela nodded to Sally and she produced both hers and Dominick’s nightly doses. She prepared both needles and handed one to Dominick and then injected herself with the one she prepared for herself. Dominick thought about not following through, the four standing before him looked at him and Sally strangely. He injected himself with the Nightblood and instantly fell under its euphoric effects. Sally looked over to him and spoke.

“Remember; try to relax during this part.” He was not sure what she meant, but was horrified when Han’s picked her up and bit into her neck. He had long saber-tooth like fangs. He was still in shock when Frieda sank a similar maw into his neck. He tried to struggle against the aguish he was now feeling. The bite was torturous and the slurping and sucking noises were impossible to ignore that close to his ears. Frieda pulled back and fell back onto the floor.

“Exquisite,” Frieda’s eyes rolled back into her head and she gyrated her hips and rubbed herself over her breasts and face. Hulderich looked over to Hans; he was displaying a similar delirium.

“Impressive, is it not?” Carmela looked up to Hulderich. “Would you care to try it?”

“No, I am only to observe,” Hulderich replied.

“Suit yourself, so how much would you like to order?” Carmela produced a paper notepad and a pen.

“None, I will need to report to the Fuhrer before we make any investitures into an unproven drug,” Hulderich sat back down and did not speak another word.

“Well just realize that if you do not get in on the ground level of this new venture, you could very well be left out!” Carmela stormed out of the suite and slammed the door closed behind her.

“So did they buy?”

“I wouldn’t know, I never saw them again, well I did see the one that bit me once more,” Dominick began unbuttoning his shirt.

“Yeah I got to meet her too.”

“So for the next eight years, I was drugged and then offered to any of Carmela’s guest whenever she put on a show, and I watched, very carefully.” Dominick removed his collar.
