“I’m here Dominick,” Sally replied groggily.

“Why am I in a damn cell? What did you get me into last night?”

“You’re in a cell because they don’t want you to escape,” she replied.

“Whoa, escape what, the club; are we still in the club?”

“Yes, well actually we are under it, several levels bellow it, Sally walked into view of Dominick’s vision.

“Sally, let me out of here please,” Dominick begged.

“The cell isn’t locked, you can leave whenever you want,” Sally unlatched and opened the door to his cell.

“What’s the deal? Why go thru all of this?” Dominick walked out of his cell and looked around. “Which way is out?” Sally pointed to a set of doors.

“You can leave through those, but you won’t get far,” Sally took a step back and lowered her gaze. Dominick could tell something was terribly troubling her.

“Sally come with me, I’ll help you,” Dominick took hold of her hand.

“I can’t leave anymore than you can,” Sally looked at Dominick as tears rolled down her face.

“Wait you said I could leave; now I can’t?”

“You’ll see,” Sally pulled her hand away and walked back into her cell. It was then that Dominick could see. There were rows upon rows of similar cells, each with a sleeping occupant. He turned and ran through the doors. He made his way up the stairs and finally into the now empty club. He began walking toward the doors when an intense pain struck him. He fell to his knees and began to shake uncontrollably.

“I see you are feeling the withdrawal symptoms already,” Carmela walked up to him.

“Let me go,” Dominick continued to crawl towards the door.

“That door is not locked, feel free to walk or crawl through it,” she replied coldly.

“I will, just watch me!”

“You will fail, you see the chemical composition of our drug makes it an intense high, but when you come down, it’s like death itself,” Carmela took a seat at a table and watched. “Let me know when you want your next hit. Dominick tried to get up, but the pain was too intense, and his will faltered.

“I need it,” he uttered barely above a whisper.

“So go get it,” Carmela replied and sneered. “Sally is holding your next dosage.” It took Dominick hours of crawling down stairs before he reached the bottom once again.

“Sally,” Dominick cried out weakly, and she appeared out of the shadows.

“I have your fix Dominick; let’s get you back in your cell.” She helped Dominick back into his cell and prepared his dosage.

“So you were trapped in a velvet cage.”

“Yes, that drug was impossible to resist,” Dominick replied.

“What was it, Heroin?”

“If only, no it was far worse than that,” Dominick answered as he took a deep breath.

“What was it then?”

“They called in Nightblood, it was a designer drug, and it was specifically made for one purpose.”

“Vampires!” she quickly uttered.
